EVANS LAW, PLC

INTRODUCTORY CONVERSATION TERMS

Thank you for your interest in Evans Law, PLC.

Evans Law offers a brief, no-charge introductory meeting for prospective clients who would like to discuss, at a high level, whether their matter appears to fit the firm’s practice and whether an Initial Legal Consultation or another engagement may be appropriate.

By scheduling or participating in an introductory conversation, you agree to the following terms.

Purpose and Scope

The introductory conversation is generally limited to 30 minutes. It is intended to help us:

  • Discuss the general nature of your legal needs
  • Explain Evans Law’s practice areas and available engagement options
  • Determine whether the matter may be a potential fit for the firm
  • Identify the information needed to complete a conflicts review, if you wish to explore representation further

The introductory conversation is not a legal consultation. Evans Law will not provide legal advice, legal analysis, or recommendations about your particular matter during the meeting.

No Attorney-Client Relationship

Scheduling or participating in an introductory conversation does not create an attorney-client relationship. Evans Law does not represent you, your organization, or any affiliated person or entity unless and until we agree to do so in a written engagement agreement.

No deadlines will be monitored, and Evans Law has no responsibility to take action on your behalf unless a written engagement agreement says otherwise.

Do Not Share Confidential Information

Please do not send or discuss confidential, proprietary, privileged, or detailed information before or during the introductory conversation. This includes documents, correspondence, transaction details, financial information, sensitive personal information, or information about another person or organization.

Information you send before Evans Law has confirmed in writing that it can discuss or undertake your matter may not be treated as confidential or privileged, and sending it does not create an attorney-client relationship.

We may ask for limited information needed to determine whether the matter appears to fit our practice and to conduct a conflicts review. Please limit what you provide to that purpose unless Evans Law specifically asks for additional information after conflicts clearance.

By scheduling an introductory conversation, you agree that the limited information you share for the purpose of determining fit and checking conflicts will not, by itself, prevent Evans Law from representing another person in the same or a related matter. This is why we ask you to share only what is needed for that purpose until conflicts have cleared.

If you choose to provide substantive information before Evans Law confirms in writing that it can discuss or undertake the matter, that information may affect Evans Law’s ability to consider or accept the representation. Evans Law will handle information received from prospective clients in accordance with applicable professional-responsibility rules.

Conflicts Review

Before the introductory conversation, Evans Law may conduct a preliminary conflicts review using the limited information provided when you schedule. If you wish to proceed after the meeting, we may request additional information to complete a formal conflicts check.

Evans Law is not obligated to accept any matter. We may decline representation for conflicts, capacity, subject-matter, jurisdictional, or other professional reasons.

Organizations and Participants

If you are arranging the meeting for an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to do so. The client for any later legal engagement must be identified in writing.

Other persons may participate in the introductory conversation only with Evans Law’s agreement. Their participation does not make them clients and may affect confidentiality or attorney-client privilege in any later legal engagement.

Next Steps

If the matter appears to fit the firm’s practice and conflicts are cleared, Evans Law may offer an Initial Legal Consultation or propose another written engagement. The scope, fees, and terms of any legal representation will be set out separately in the applicable engagement agreement.

Arizona Law

Mr. Evans is licensed to practice law in Arizona. Evans Law may advise clients outside Arizona on matters within the firm’s practice areas where permitted, including federal tax law matters, but does not undertake representation in another jurisdiction unless separately agreed and permitted.

These Introductory Conversation Terms are governed by Arizona law.
